Good tarmac roads were in store for us today, making it much easier to focus on the magnificent scenery on the way from Esquel to San Carlos de Bariloche. Set in the northern part of Argentinian Patagonia, this is an area ideal for tourism.
Chuck and I both enjoy a slower pace in scenic areas and to take photo stops so we rode together today. Bariloche is often referred to as the Little Switzerland of South America due to the snow capped peaks, sparkling lakes, alpine architecture and chocolate shops.
Our easy ride got us to Bariloche by mid-afternoon. With a picture perfect day and wind forecast for tomorrow, we seized the opportunity to ride the cable car to the top of Cerro Otto. We could see for miles. The vistas were breathtaking.
