Depart Mieming, Austria on November 21, 2010 and head south through Germany, Switzerland, southern France, Costa del Sol Spain, Morocco and Western Sahara. We will ferry back to Malaga, Spain and fly to Buenos Aires on 19 December.

We will spend Christmas and New Year’s getting the bikes through customs, preparing them for rough South American roads and partying. On January 2nd, we get on the bikes and head to Ushuaia, the beginning of the Pan-American highway that ends 29,800 miles away at Deadhorse, Alaska. We will ride north through Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Euador and end in Bogota, Columbia. There we will service the bikes and fly them over the Darien Gap to Panama City, Panama around March 7, 2011.

Collecting the bikes in Panama, we start riding through Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico and re-enter the US at Nogales, AZ.  We plan on arriving in Los Angeles on April 11. There we will file our income taxes, steam clean the bikes, change tires and get them to the freight warehouse for shipment to Australia.

Starting in Sydney, we head through Melbourne, Adelaide, Coober Pedy, Alice Springs, Katherine, Derby and arrive in Perth  about 10 May 2011. We then prepare the bikes for shipment to Bangkok.

Bangkok begins the final leg of our journey. We head north towards Laos, Xian, China, Kazakstan, Volgograd (Stalingrad) Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia and return to Mieming on Monday July 25, 2011.

All the above reflects the current plan. It is subject to political and natural disasters. Four countries have been deleted and two have been added since the inception of the trip due to political instability. Routes have changed due to earthquakes in Peru. Drug wars in Mexico may add additional changes.
